Everyone has been talking about Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  I loved the idea, but hated the thought of spending the extra money.  I found a recipe online to make my own chalk paint and I have been using that recipe until now.

I finally splurged and bought ASCP…and I’m telling you…I will NEVER go back.

No prep work, no primer, great coverage, and amazing colors!  If you have been debating on spending the money… DO IT.  The chalk paint goes so much further then regular latex that in the long run it all evens out.  Plus you will be so much happier with the end result.

See for yourself…

My Mother-In-Law gave us this beautiful armoire.  My husband wasn’t so sure but I assured him that he would like it when I was done.

See the curves? And those feet?

I apologize for the awful iPhone picture and dirty basement… But you get the idea.

Using Paris Grey, Old White, Clear Wax, and a little bit of distressing….This is the end result.

What do you think?!

I posted this picture on Annie’s Facebook & she commented and said that it’s beautiful!! I feel like a celebrity told me I did a good job! It’s a great feeling!

Now I am in the process of building shelves for the inside. (It was set up to hold a TV before)  I will do a more thorough post later but I wanted to show you what I have been up to. Hope you enjoy!

***On a side note, I will be making some changes to the site soon.  You may have noticed my new watermark says “Traci Morby Artistry”.  I have decided to make this the new name of my site so that it can host more than just projects.  I am also a HairStylist, Makeup Artist, & Photographer.  “Traci Morby Artistry” will be hosting all of these things in one place!  (In a desperate attempt to simplify my blogging!) So be ready for hair&makeup tips, how-to’s, and make overs.  My latest photoshoots.  And of course my repurposing, thrifting, and refinishing projects!***
Thank you for stopping by!
